María J Garrido, PhD

Garrido, Maria 2017I’m associated professor of Biopharmacy and Pharmacokinetics at the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition in the University of Navarra, Spain, where I combine teaching and research activities. During my postdoc training, I worked on preclinical mechanistic pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics models under the supervision of Drs. Meindert Danhof and Piet H van der Graaf at the University of Leiden (The Netherland). I have collaborated with the EMA in the working group of Modeling and Simulation, as external advisor. Currently, my research is focused on new therapies in oncology based on monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) targeting specific immune-checkpoints, either in monotherapy or associated with vaccines, and the development of nanocarriers conjugated with those MAbs. We combine in-vitro and in-vivo experiments with mechanistic quantitative approaches to build predictive models for translational purposes (www.unav.edu/psp)
